World Science Fiction Society

The World Science Fiction Society is an unincorporated society whose membership consists of those people who are members of the current seated World Science Fiction Convention (WorldCon). All members of the convention are eligible to attend and vote at the annual Business Meeting held at the Worldcon. Other purposes of the society are choosing the recipients of the Hugo Awards, Site Selection (for determining the site and committee of future Worldcons as well as the occasional North American Science Fiction Convention which is held when the Worldcon is outside North America). The society also has a permanent standing Mark Protection and Registration Committee to protect the usage of certain trademarks and names used by the society.
