Tiptree Awards

Created in 1991 to honor Alice Sheldon who wrote as James Tiptree, Jr. and to promote sf which explores and expands genre roles. Unlike awards decided by a vote (the Hugos or the Nebulas for example), the Tiptree Award is decided by a group judges who review the eligible works and select the winner (or winners). The list of judges changes from year to year.

More information about the award may be found at the Tiptree website.
