1. What is the Discussion Board?

   The Noreascon Four Discussion Board is an area where anyone can ask questions about the convention and talk to other members. We know that, as the convention approaches, members will want to discuss things like sharing rooms, or how to find each other, or how they're getting to Boston, and this seemed like a good way to do that.

   There are also a number of other ways to find out about Noreascon, such as visiting the rest of the web site (see the navigation links to your left), or reading our many blogs.

2. Why do some topics have dots next to them?

   Those are the permanent topics, the ones that we think will get the most attention; they'll always be at the top of the list.

3. How do I reply to a post?

   Click on the "reply" link at the bottom of the topic. You'll then be brought to another page where you can type a message. Don't use html in the message, it'll just be ignored. If you want to enter a URL (a link to another web page), just type it in, and make sure there's a space before and after it.

   You must enter a name in order to post a message. There's obviously no way for us to make you use your real name, but we hope that you will. You can, if you want, enter your email address--that will let other people send messages to you. But you don't have to do that.

4. How do I create a new topic?

   We're not currently permitting members to create new topics. Only the Board administrators can do that. If you have an idea for a new topic, post a message in the "Suggest a topic" area, and if we think it's a good idea, we'll create it.

5. How do I send email to a poster?

   If the poster included an email address in their message, you can send email to them by clicking on their name, which will bring you to a new page that will let you type a message to them. You'll have to include an email address for yourself in that message.

   If the poster didn't include an email address in their message, you can't send mail to them.

6. Hey! I don't want anyone sending email to me!

   We understand that not everyone wants to get mail from people in a discussion board. Therefore, all you have to do is not include your email address when you post a message. Isn't that easy?

7. You still haven't answered my question.
